My Purpose

For those of you who know me well, know that I don't take life for granite. I grabbed life by the horns at the age of 22 and took off running. I don't have a long and profound story to share like most bloggers, nor do I feel like going into detail about why it took me until the age of 22 to understand my place in this world. All I know, is that life is just way too short and unpredictable to not get out there and do something great. I made the first step 8 years ago, when I decided to go back to school and finish my degree. Working as a graphic designer for the past 5 years has been quite an experience; but now I am at a point in my life where I am ready to master another challenge -- Photography. I feel as though I am more in control behind the camera - opposed to designing. As a designer, art direction is ultimately dictated by my client; therefore my creative execution is inevitably deviated by criticism that is not my own. With photography, there's no going back and revising a captured moment in time. It is what it is, and I have to say - I kind of like it that way. The great American photographer, Walker Evans once stated, "Whether he is an artist or not, the photographer is a joyous sensualist, for the simple reason that the eye traffics in feelings, not in thoughts."

The purpose of this blog is to share with all who are interested, a piece of my new creative journey.

Hope you all enjoy.

Below are several shots I took with the new camera.
